Local Coverage Notes
The following notes apply to specific regions and destinations. These nuances are important to understand before purchasing a plan.
- Rural areas: Coverage in rural and remote areas may be limited to 3G or 2G speeds even where 4G is listed. This applies particularly in parts of Africa, Central Asia, and remote Pacific islands.
- Underground transport: Mobile coverage in underground metro systems varies by city. London, Paris, and Tokyo have good underground coverage; other cities may not.
- Mountain regions: High-altitude areas such as the Alps, Himalayas, and Andes may have limited or no coverage.
- Island destinations: Coverage on smaller islands depends on local infrastructure. Major tourist islands typically have good coverage; remote islands may not.
- China: Our China plans use local partner networks. Some international internet services may be subject to local regulations. A VPN may be required for certain services.
- India: eSIM activation in India requires additional identity verification steps as per local regulations. Allow extra time for activation.
- USA: Coverage is provided through major US carriers. 5G is available in major metropolitan areas on Premium plans.
Destinations Not Currently Covered
The following types of destinations are not currently covered by Airlло Mobile UK eSIM plans:
- Countries subject to international sanctions
- Countries where eSIM technology is legally restricted or prohibited
- Antarctica and other polar regions
- International waters (open ocean)
- Airspace (in-flight connectivity requires a separate service)
